A true innovator is one with a seemingly endless well of creativity. As a musician, DJ, designer, and music educator, Julian Gray fully embodies the words innovation and imagination.
Fusing together a rare blend progressive house, techno, and electro, Julian Gray carves out his own groundbreaking genre his fans have deemed as “progresso.” His one of a kind style of silly, playful, and melancholic music personally captured Deadmau5’s attention early in his career eventually leading to several releases with the artist's esteemed mau5trap label. From an early age, Julian learned the fundamental elements of music theory that would pose the basic framework for his later work, further strengthened by 8 years of classical training through his childhood and adolescence. Growing up in a musical family around a wide variety of music genres including 80s new wave and electronica instilled a lasting sense of eclecticism still apparent in his productions today. His thoughtful and introspective music delivers a much-needed departure from today’s electronic music landscape.
Entirely streamlining his own brand and image, Julian pushes the envelope with his unique and creative vision. Already surpassing millions of digital streams and 125,000+ monthly listeners, he seems to effortlessly pull ingenuity out of thin air, ardently pouring it into his dexterous productions. Publicly supported by heavyweights such as Above and Beyond, Cosmic Gate, Solarstone, Thrill Seekers, and Chicane, Julian’s music is commonly played on the likes of BBC Radio, mau5trap radio on Sirius XM, and Armin Van Burren’s A State of Trance. With collaborations alongside artists such as KJ Sawka (Pendulum) and Mr. Bill, in addition to five EP releases to date, EDM.COM deemed him “undoubtedly one of the fastest rising producers of his generation.” Julian’s recent collaboration with English vocalist Pipa Moran “Touch” hit Beatport progressive charts at #42, with several tracks featured on mau5trap’s chart-topping ‘We Are Friends Vol 8’ compilation at #1 in Beatport Dance.
When Julian isn’t in the studio, he serves as a mentor and educator for other budding musicians under his moniker Julian Gray Media. Working in conjunction with many pro-audio manufacturers, most notably Ableton, FabFilter, Izotope, Yamaha and Splice, Julian delivers his wisdom to an audience eager for excellence in music education.
